Beware Of Scam Inquiries


In Business you deal up with many people and come across with many experiences. Being associated with the fashion clothing industry. I just came across to an interesting experience about a scam inquiry as below. 

Some days back a buyer from a Western African region sent me an email, was looking for the women party dress suppliers especially cocktail party dress supplier and for some cute prom dress supplier. He offered me to promote and market our clothing to his region. For the first instant I sent him our product catalog and details, then few days back I surprisingly read an email from him, stating as our modern ladies fashion clothing are being liked by his buyers at hand specially and he want to have some samples to deliver him so that he show his buyers and also market it at his area and market.

I felt interest and I replied him with some more details about my company and its policy to make and send samples. In response I surprisingly asked to provide them almost 23 dresses to send as samples J  for free even not paying the express charges, I by a phone call and email had mentioned him for we could provide them 3 samples free without express charges only. 

I inquired his some company details and website info and some his buyers region, but I found him he was unable to provide such information that shows the potential in a buyer or real existence. I excused because it was not possible to provide him such quantity of the clothing without proper details and witout any charges. Then onward I didn’t hear him anymore for clothing requirements.



I am not sure if we could be able to come to a point to make a deal but this buyer has changed my perception regarding the African buyers. His demand for 23 samples for his buyers really points out confusion that such buyer/distributor from An African Region must bring into his to consideration too, and must have some proof of requiring samples and its authenticated requirements.  So that we as supplier get confidence and provide full cooperation in developing the business for mutual benefits.
